Dr John Paul Mynott is an Education Dean at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland. His research focuses on collaborative professional learning including how resources, people and processes can support facilitation of effective professional learning. Through his research he seeks to understand more about how we learn when working with others, how we can make this learning easier and more productive, and what inhibits learning.  He is currently leading a 3-year project exploring playfulness through collaborative professional learning working closely with teachers and leaders in schools. Prior to working at the University of Aberdeen, Dr Mynott was a primary school headteacher for 10 years, where he implemented lesson study as part of the ongoing professional learning structures of the school.
