Nazarbayev Intellectual School IB
NIS IB ASTANA is an international school that provides educational opportunities for gifted students through International Baccalaureate programmes and whose mission is to develop intellectual community, intercultural understanding and the value of lifelong learning.
As a community, they provide learning and teaching of high quality (HQTL) through curriculum and further education courses. They care for the welfare and safety of students through the cultivation of national and personal values.
It is a CIS accredited school.
Teachers conduct Lesson Study and in-school LS courses for their colleagues and teachers of secondary schools. The Lesson Study courses are conducted in three languages: Kazakh, Russian and English. The leaders and participants of the school’s Lesson Study courses have been speakers at the annual WALS conferences since 2016.

The School-Lyceum #66
The mission of the school is to form a personality adhering to national values and serving the world.
There are 2,601 students enrolled in the Lyceum. The language of instruction is Kazakh. The main focus of the school is Science and Math. The school employs 189 teachers for the education and upbringing of students.
The school teachers use such innovative technologies in the teaching process as the international Global Scholar program, the international SHARE project (uniting schools for research in education), the Nestle School of Healthy Nutrition, programming basics, emotional intelligence, STEM, robotics.
There are Lesson Study trainers who conduct in-school courses for their colleagues. Currently, the school is successfully applying the Lesson Study approach.

Gymnasium School No. 75
The school’s mission is to develop an intellectual, socially adaptive person with a high level of thinking skills and deep knowledge of subjects, seeking to make the world better through intercultural relationship and respect.
Gymnasium No. 75 has 3808 students and 160 teachers.
The school works in two directions: Humanitarian, and Science/Math. Students study English, French and German. A variety of additional programs and clubs are introduced to reveal the talents of each child. There is a branch of a music school, sports sections, and art clubs at school.
The school cooperates with national and international organizations and higher educational institutions. Such projects as “Global Scholars” and “SHARE” are implemented at school. Children also successfully cooperate with children from other foreign countries and conduct joint projects.
To improve teaching and learning, the school has been doing Action Research and Lesson Study for several years.
