Location of HKIEd

The Hong Kong Institute of Education located in Tai Po can be conveniently reached by public transportation. While the location map and the transportation map show the driving visitor and the non-driving visitor how to get here respectively, the campus map shows all visitors how to get around the campus.

Travel to and from the Airport

You can get the most comprehensive and up-to-date information about Hong Kong at this splendid website “Discover Hong Kong” which is run by the Hong Kong Tourism Board. Answers to most frequently asked questions, such as transportation, accommodation, attractions of Hong Kong , can be found here.

Conference participants can get hotel shuttle buses, limousines and cars in the central area of the airport’s Transportation Centre to their hotels.

Besides these transports, participants may also opt for the Airport Express which makes the journey to Central and Kowloon is 23 and 19 minutes respectively. Fares for an adult vary between HK$60 – HK$100 for a single journey.

Airbuses to major centres operating on frequent schedules reach most of the major hotels. An overnight bus service will cover the airport’s 24 -hour operation. Taxis are another choice and fares from Chek Lap Kok range from HK$ 230 – HK$ 375 .

Travel to and from the Conference Venue

Free shuttle bus service will be provided by the Conference for participants who are staying in the Regal Riverside Hotel or Royal Park Hotel. The timetable of the free shuttle bus service will be announced in due course. Participants are required to arrive at the hotel lobby at least 5 minutes before the departure time in the morning.

Participants can also get to the Conference venue by other transports. You can take the Mass Transit Railway (MTR), get off at “Kowloon Tong” MTR station and transit from there for the KCR. Get off at “Tai Po Market” station and take Kowloon Motor Bus (KMB) No .275 (at HK$ 4.3 one way) and the bus will take you right to the Hong Kong Institute of Education (HKIEd). (Transportation Map)

Free shuttle bus services will be provided on 29 and 30 November 2007 and seats will be offered on a first-come-first-served basis.
