Keynote Speeches

We are delighted to have invited one distinguished scholar, Professor John ELLIOTT, to be our keynote speaker at the Conference.

Professor John Elliott is Emeritus Professor of the Centre for Applied Research in Education (CARE) at the School of Education and Professional Development, University of East Anglia. He is also a former Dean of the School of Education and Professional Development (1992-95) and Director of CARE (1996-99).

John Elliott is well-known internationally for his role in developing the theory and practice of action research in the contexts of curriculum and teacher development and has directed a number of funded collaborative classroom research projects with teachers and schools. He has also served as a consultant to national and international organisations. In Hong Kong, he is currently actively engaged as a consultant to the Hong Kong Government on the strategic development of its curriculum reform proposals and the External Evaluator of the EMB funded Variation for the Improvement of Teaching and Learning (VITAL) Project.

He is the author and editor of a number of well-known publications in the fields of curriculum and teacher professional development. His thinking and practice spanning over the past four decades and their contributions to the field of education are best illustrated in his recently published book “Reflecting Where the Action Is: The selected works of John Elliott”.
